Well Okay, I know lots of our customers are asking for the workshop list, I am working as quick as I can and today they have gone live on the website for January/ February!!

The Majority of them start in February!

We do have new ones starting in March - but I will reveal all at a later date on them!!

As the Very Exciting news is By March we will have a new bigger, better workshop area. WOWEE!!!

I need to make a quick apology to the class on Thursday 15th September, I am so sorry I was taken poorly, an alternative class was arranged with Karen/ Jill but you all declined

, you missed such a lovely lesson too!! I have docs on Monday and will find out what was going on!

HOT NEWS!!!

We have just signed on the dotted line for our lease to be extended for 6 more years! GULP!!

We have had so many worried customers this week, asking us if we are "all right", "not going anywhere" " doing well".

We are not sure if this is result of some strange rumour or a knee jerk reaction to the closure of Finishing Touches of Totnes ( Shocking News, and so sad for Dave and the girls, we wish them luck in the future, whatever they decide to do!) It is so sad all the little independants closing.

But we can assure you, 6 year lease, with your support, we aint going anywhere.

YIPEE!!

Your loyalty to us has been great this week, Westpoint Exeter was on and whilst some of you went to the Devil up the road (we know who you are, and your all going in the naughty corner LOL!), we had a fun filled and busy week.

So what went on!

We launched our first Scrapbook kit of the Month! ( Released on and around the 15th of every month in future, the class gets too see it a week before everyone else and the web.)

In store at our Scrapbook class and the ladies loved the Kit so much they had to have it. Must say it is great value. £20.00 worth of Prima for £16.99 and Limited too. We only have a 4 left. (pop in to the shop to see it).

Then the deliveries started, inkpads, embossing folders, papers, wooden advent calendars to decorate, wooden christmas mobiles to decorate, fabric flowers and oodles of stamps too.

Classes everyday!

Wednesdays Scrapbook class - we were blown away with some of the creations this week.

Thursday we made a delightful Desktop Calendar with matching box.

Saturday

I played nice with peeloffs, sakura metallics, misters and distress inks.

Today I get to carry on stocking our new website, Launch date soon. Our current website is misbehaving something rotten and we said enough is enough, hence no newsletters lately the system just will not let us post or rearrange things. Any hoo the new one is a proper shop, with items, wishlists, gift vouchers and more!!!

Well as you may know I have taken a weeks holiday and come back all refreshed and raring to go!

WELL!!!What a Manic week!!

Firstly I went off to Wrexham Artstamps Show Clutching in my evil little hands all

the New Pens from Crafters Companion - The Spectrum Noirs,

and sold out by the middle of the day.

(SORRY, Hangs head in shame at the great big gap on the shop wall),

We will be re-stocking soon.

Then A BIG and we mean BIG!! Lorry. Bought in some lovely chunky wools and some patterns to match.

WENDY Norse is sooo soft!! I am going to be snuggly warm this winter in my knitted creations, Oh did I say me - I mean you and your creations.

We also took delivery of the yarn and books for Jean Greenhowes cute character knits!

So of course the whole of the wool room had to be reorganised - TWICE!! Strange we have more stock, but we have more room - it is a little tardis!

Then another BEEP BEEP sound of a lorry approaching and Oh My the Christmas fabrics are here for the patchworkers - we are still building this stock but this meant another room had to be rearranged, Karen is just loving this, NOT!!!

Oh my word and now the Kanban christmas goodies have arrived along with Craft Times Christmas Embellishments. Why is Karen looking at me funny and her eyes are twitching, its only one more complete wall to rearrange.

I had better go and get her medication, she looks like she needs it.

We have been chasing these papers since February 2010 in the hope of stocking them, and yippee we have got some!!

Now They are too dreamy for words, We only bought in a select few items for the first order just to see how they go, but judging by this mornings reaction they are going to be popular!!

3 hours later, time for breakfast and it is absolutely boiling hot and glorious sunshine.

Such Sad News!!!

I am at home this morning and whilst watching the local morning news, it has been broadcast that

Local Diving Sensation Tom Daleys, Dad has sadly passed away over night.

Such a sad time for all the family, and so sad that such a supportive man will now not see his son dive at London 2012.

Our prayers and thoughts are with the family.

Our Newsletter system has gremlins, So have decided to put the main points on here for the mean time.

We were getting all excited about announcing that Crafters companion Humphrey Stamps were in stock,

Well they were - We had them for all of one day before they sold out, (well we have one stamp left and 3 CD roms).

The June workshop list is now on the workshop pages of both the blog and the online shop. You can see we have started to introduce our Saturday longer lasting workshops - but as we had so many request for the glass dish workshop - it has been fully booked already, I am working on another date for it soon.

More workshop news, due to lack of support, we have sadly decided to stop the Thursday evening workshop. However, we may bring it back again if more people express an interest to attend.

The Scrapbooking workshop on every other wednesday afternoon is proving to be very popular too.

For all those Quilters out there we have had a New stand in from Guttermann of Sulky Cotton Blendables Thread, they are yummy!

Some of you may be aware that Tracy went off the other weekend on a secret mission!

Well we are now allowed to tell people what? Where? When? etc.

We were sat in the office about a month ago arranging our birthday tea party, when Tracy received an

e-mail, which she thought she had received in error , as it was worded "Top Secret".

She e-mailed the company involved explaining she had received the e-mail and did not think it was for her eyes.

To which she got an e-mail back saying "doh! Tracy yes it is for you"

It was from the lovely Sara Davies Of

cordially inviting Tracy up to Darlington as she was wanted on their brand new demonstration team!! To which she has been very excited to accept.

Not only because she believes that Crafters Companion products are great but because she has had sneaky peaks of things they will be selling soon.

Tune into Create and Craft at 9pm on Tuesday Evening to see a pick of the day launch that of course has stamps in that has Tracy really excited.

Well what a time of it, the last couple of weeks, have been kind of crazy what with the bank holidays, Royal wedding, Tracys little secret mission away, which hopefully in time will help benefit the shop, customers and a couple of others as well. Still can't reveal anything yet as A company needs a big announcement first. HEE HEE such a tease!

Things will finally get back to normal tomorrow and we can all relax back into our nice routine. Although whilst Tracy was away she fell in love with all things cardmaking all over again, and has promised other people and herself more post on her own personnal blog again. Whilst at the same time, Hoping to add more tutorials to the shop blog.

Looking forward to the future, Tracy is going to be developing the stamp range with a mixture of her own designs (as she has finally accepted you like them) both as Clear Stamps and Digi images.

oh today, I have been a busy little bee.

Came into the shop to find that for some un known reason, the cash register did not want to be a cash register anymore, and just wanted to beep at me all morning.

So Hour and half later, it is all reprogrammed and working lovely again.

Then I got to work, now this may seem strange and I don't know why, but last night I had a dream about not giving anyone Christmas presents this year. I could see myself quite visibly saying I just ran out of time, and I so Wanted to make, this for them, that for her etc. So today I started and I made this gorgeous glass dish, with matching window gift box (made soo easy by the Crafters companion ultimate pro board). A little bit of stamping and voila! One Present done and dusted.

You will have the chance to do this workshop one Saturday in June, this will be one of our new longer sessions workshops.

Good morning everyone.

I just wanted to quickly pop on to show you the card the ladies made in yesterday mornings, papercraft workshop.

We used the Tilda Papers and a Just Tracys Sentiment stamp.

The card actually has an acetate panel showing the scalloped rose strip that is inside the card.

This version is pink, but the ladies made some lovely lilac ones too.

Next up is a card of a technique workshop coming in may.

you will learn how to do another tile effect card, this time with simple scored lines, white cardstock, one stamp, one ink pad, and a paint brush. Simple but effective.

There I was enjoying the beautiful warmth of the sun, and the sight of daffodils popping up all over the place, sat in the workshop with a few customers, making this beautiful canvas art. Getting quite excited at the prospect of sharing with you all, and the day I get to do it, what happens, Yep!! its absolutely chucking down with rain!!

Don't you just love our wonderful weather.

Never mind, a fun day was had by all who did this workshop, we used a canvas, distress inks of various colours, crafters workshop templates, woodware paper flowers, and more of the viva decor paper and gloss pens.

Ohh Goodie this months Craft stamper just arrived, time for a cuppa and a peruse me thinks.

Fun Morning in the workshop!!

Today we held our normal papercraft workshop and 7 ladies were coming in to play with distress inks, stencils and more.

These classes always get quite loud and out of hand but are always great fun!!

Todays was no different than norma'l Except today we were joined by the Rainbow Studios Girls, who have designed some of our new stamps launching Saturday week!!

(Don't forget to come in Saturday 26th March for our launch day demo).

As Rachal is an artist (no pressure there then!), she was amazed to see how we build the stamps of her images into cards. We know now that she is totally hooked.

Here are the cards they made, the girls done me proud.

So sweet, what little girl would not want to receive these on her birthday.

The class is repeated this evening with another group of ladies, we hope they enjoy it as much as the ladies did this morning.

Other news in!! You know I love the Paper - pens from viva decor, they have made the little pearly doo daas on the cards above, today we took a fresh delivery of the opal colour and 12 new colours all the lovely pastel ones, must dash gotta go try them out - Well it would be rude not to wouldn't it.

Everybody knows I love to colour and especially with my beloved promarkers. We all know that you need a memento ink pad to get the perfect outline and .....

I know we all struggle to find "THE" perfect cardstock to stamp onto and colour in with. STRUGGLE no more.

We have Neenah Cardstock in stock, £3.99 for 20 sheets, but OH WOW!!!!!

Super white, Super Smooth, and SUPERB!! Results. I really cannot rate this product enough, you can tell by all the explanation marks - right!!

I have been working with the cardstock all weekend at the Artstamps Chepstow show, and I took half the shops stock to the show, the doors opened at 10am and by 11.00 am My first demo done, NEENAH sold out! I was gutted and had to keep apologising to ladies all day.

So lucky customers you better be quick, we still have stock in the shop but it will be going onto the website shop by the end of the week..

Well Karen was in the patchwork class this morning and whilst she was enjoying herself, I managed to get this little baby all done and dusted.

I have used a nellies die, Stampavie stamp and distress inks to colour the image, and an embossing folder for the embossing, not to clear on photo though.

Trade show news.

HELLO!!! DID YOU MISS ME!! I AM HOME!!!

AND ...... I had a lovely couple of days away. Would you Adam and Eve it though, I forgot to take may camera with me AGAIN!!!

Well although I said I had a lovely couple of days away, and YES, I did order some scrummy goodies from a FEW wholesalers, I must admit to being a bit miffed with the lack of effort put in by the companies expecting me to part with pennies (POUNDS) with them.

After drooling over pictures of the wholesalers exhibiting at CHA (the american version of our trade show), I was left feeling very flat from the UK equivalent. There were only a couple of exceptions to this rule. After all it is a craft show, where was the artistic interpretation?? Come to that, where were the demos this year? Doom and Gloom does not befit a craft show. Wholesalers take note!

Never the less, my loyal, lovely customers, For your sake I carried on, It was a bad job, but somebody had to do it. So I sacrificed myself and my feet! Scouring the aisles to find yummy stash and: do you know what, according to the piles of receipts and order notes, and the ear bashing from Karen about some budget or other, (she apparently gave me!) I think I may have found, just the things to tempt you with in future. (insert evil laugh here if you wish).

We are soon hoping to hear the sound of little tyres on tarmac, bringing all the lovely new goodies to the shop.

We supported local as well, one stall was starting out and we fell in love with their bag kits.

And they are only based in Paignton.

I am sworn to secrecy on everything we ordered until it starts arriving, some of the goodies were not coming onto the market until MAY!!! How am I ever going to wait that long!!

It was lovely to catch up with lots of my buddies from the demonstrating world, and fellow craft shop owners. Its always nice to be around people that just - get us! You know what I mean, they understand, we just don't want it, we need it, and we need it NOW!!! No eyebrows raised and a worried look, they understand you see.

Enough for now, I have images to draw and colour still for our stamp launch.

There we were quietly content in the warmth of the office this morning, when a BIG!!! lorry turned up, We gulped. Then the man got out and said I have a pallet for you!! We gulped again!

You just know its gonna be bad when a pallet turns up and slightly painful to the bank balance.

So After spending 4hrs pricing up, we now have lots more decoupage, sentiments, card blank packs with matching cello bags available.

Last week we had a lady come in the shop for a quilting lesson; and as she did not card make she saw our cards for sale for "The Help for Heroes" Charity, cut along story short she wanted a birthday card for her son and we did not have one.

So I said "I'll make one". Besides running a shop, doing samples, Blah Blah Blah, I have all the time in the world don't you know.

Any how, She is picking it up tomorrow, luckily I remembered 30 minutes ago about it.

I ran franically around the shop, sourcing a quick but elegant make. Now I know she said football and Plymouth Argyle, and I did have the perfect card in mind, but then I remembered , it ain' t looking to good for old Argyle at the moment and did not want to tempt fate.

So this is what I came up with.

Hope she likes it, I don't do commisions for the very reason that I worry the recipitant won't like it.

The other week in the shop I sat and made four cards with one page of decoupage, all on a Valentines theme.

Well I enjoyed that so much that yesterday I did the same but did a wedding-come anniversary theme.

As I made quite large cards this time I could not get a photograph of them all together so took seperate photos of each card to show you.

For the first one I used and 8 x8 scalloped card and cut half of the front off diagonally.

Used pretty papers, silver peeloffs, and some silver dots from the Viva decor paper pen, (I love these paper pens, look just like little pearls when they are dried, I am dotting everything.)

Secon card up and I made a double easel card out of a DL card, Can't take cradit for the double easel as I spied it on my day off having a sneaky look at a TV channel. (well at least I am Honest)

This one is just a simple square card, nice and easy does it.

This one I can take credit for, I used my Tonic Studios Shape cutting system to create an oval shaped card, to which I added a little tab to the back to help with stability. (see those dots again via the paper pen)

I'm all distressed, and restocked up.

I have been working on workshop samples lately and could not resist giving you a sneaky peek of the workshop planned for 17th March (please be advised both classes on this day are the same class and both are £8.50, Sorry Karen slipped on the keyboard when she typed the workshop programme in store).

Any how back to the card, during the workshop you will lwarn how to use masks, with distress inks and also colour in with the distress inks too.

So you make a lovely card from scratch. No Backing papers for us we can colour co-ordinate our own.

I cannot help it, I love cute images, they draw me in and i get tunnel vision; but every now again I look around me and Go OOH! I could do that with that.

Now not to frighten any one but February is just around the corner and before you know it Mothers day will be here. I normally don't like to wish the days away but I hope you will forgive me just this once, as I am sure when you look at the yummy stamp set. I have used it won't be in the shop for long. For those that don't like stamping there is a similar version out on decoupage.

The photo is not great sorry, it was late in the day. So it is a bit dark, using Cosmic shimmers watercolours to paint the image it really shines.

Good morning everyone, where has the week gone I cannot believe it is Thursday already.

Yesterday, was a mass of deliveries.

For the papercrafters, we had loads of Embellishments, ranging from wooden hearts, butterflies, rabbits through to some lovely rose buds.

Pergamano tools and pretty cute vellums. Sorry still no plain grids - we are seriously going to look for another supplier!

Now in the last couple of weeks we have had lots of enquiries for Tunisian Crochet Hooks. I am pleased to tell you that we have some ranging from 3.50mm - 5.00mm in stock, they are the pony metal ones.

We put this workshop on display last week in the shop and thought you would like to see it.

Its a little bag filled with 6 notelets to match,

I have taught this one several times over the years and thought some of you that have not done it before would like the opportunity.

It takes place on Thursday 3rd of march in the papercraft class. The Morning class however is fully booked. We do have places on the evening class which takes place between 6pm and 8pm.

In the class you learn, paper folding, Stamping, heat embossing, and adding dimension to punch shapes.

OOH Yes it was Mamas and Papas, (showing my age there then, not really a little bit before me, but mum and dad had great taste in music).

Well it is a dawn of another week, and it is now only 4 weeks to valentines day!

And if you are lucky or just plain greedy (can you tell, I don't get or have to make too many )

I have managed to get 4 cards out of one sheet of decoupage,

highlighted with viva decors paper pen (inexpensive pearly accents).

Spellbinder heart die to create and aperture and then used the waste on another card.

Deco Template!

If you recall before Christmas we had Alex and Jeanette, from Creative Craft Cabin in with their easy peasy templates.

I was sulking on the day as I did not have time to play. That was rectified this week when I managed to get my hand on the Deco template (RRP £12.99). I teamed it up with Glitter and Pearlescent cardstock, Kanban decoupage and some ribbon and bling.

WOW How easy are these templates to use, with lovely clear instructions. Alex showed lots of other uses for this template and I cannot wait to play some more.

MMM!! the card will be on display in the shop until the end of the month, but then I may just have to use it for my daughters birthday card. Cause its pink and Girly.

Now all I have to do is get my hougie board out and make a box for it to fit in.

OOHHH!! I am so chuffed to little mint balls with myself today!

We have had some Feltz wool in the shop for a while and I kept looking at it, sat there on the shelf, calling to me. "Look at me! What could you make with me??" Teasing and playing with my emotions. Now I have never felted anything in my life.

We did not even have patterns in the shop. But yesterday I took a flea in my head, and thought I AM going to try this, and it will work. So there.

So I took a green/ orange/ burgundy mix, Hank for £5.89. Knittted a simple L Shape on 7mm needles,

Sewed it up, slung it in the washing machine for 30 minutes on 60 degrees. Opened the door, and what do you know it worked. WOOHOO!!! blocked it over a small bag of caster sugar wrapped in a sandwich bag, left it to dry over night. Meanwhile a plaited a long handle with the left over wool and sewed it in place this morning.

The fog is lifting, the pain is subsiding, the tastebuds are slowly coming back to life, and I am so SICK of being SICK!

I am returning to the shop tomorrow if it kills me!

Karen - must be so fed up with ever agreeing to be my business partner, She has had to man the fort all by herself (or with some help from Marion, Thankyou)! XXXX

I had no idea IT was coming!! I went out New Years Eve, well next door neighbours. Was home tucked up in bed slightly inebriated -HIC! By 12.15pm (Barney not good with fire works).
Woke up next morning feeling Okayish - slight sore throat! Did I sing?? Can't remember singing! Oh god was I shouting? Nope - I was not really tipsy! So behaved!

By 6pm -BAM!!! Throat burning, hot cold sweats, headache. Thats all I remember.

Tuesday when I should have been going into the shop, I was instead returning home after being checked out at Derrifords A&E.

Now I have had Colds, Sniffles and have seen evidence of Man Flu over the years but my god, can I just say, this Viral stomach flu that is doing the rounds, once you have had FLU!!! you know you have had FLU!!

My long sufferring husband - keeps saying "I have never seen you like this, not even after your hysterectomy".
So here we are, the first week of 2011 been and gone and I slept the majority of it away, only waking up to say hello to the toilet and take enough fluid on board. Great for the diet but not real great for the complexion. Who'd have thunk it, grey/green/yellow really does not suit me.

I even missed Karens Birthday on the 5th January, My poor buddy! Happy Belated Birthday! We even had the Grande Calibre delivered and Dale told me, Karen has not even opened it as I was not in - OOER! Makes me feel even worse, as roles reversed, I would have been ripping the box open and playing without a thought. Well until I had me fill and then thee guilts would have snuck in! So as her reward, I promise to let her play first.

So to New Years Resolutions.

Well its 2011, and we would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very Happy New Year.

We hope you all enjoyed the Christmas and New Year festivities, whatever you were doing.

The shop will be open on the 4th January, and normal service will be resumed, I have to say even though I have enjoyed the late nights and even later mornings, I have missed the shop, and the customers and the general chit chat of life.

My Christmas was spent mainly watching somebody playing computer games and getting very stressed every time they could not complete a level - Tip next year, don't buy your 4? year old husband a Wii game that takes a bit of multi tasking and patience, LOL.
